As a Class I Lorry Driver at S&D, you will be a crucial part of our logistics and transportation team, responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials, equipment, and machinery to and from various construction sites. Your role will involve operating heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in compliance with road safety regulations and company policies, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries and vehicle inspections.

Ideal candidates will possess a valid Class I or II HGV license, have experience in driving large vehicles, and a strong knowledge of road safety and transportation regulations. A good level of physical fitness, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential qualities.   • Excellent Driving Skills: Proficiency in operating Class I & II heavy goods vehicles is a must. This includes not only the technical skills of driving large vehicles but also maneuvering safely in tight spaces and handling difficult road conditions.

  • Good Communication: Clear communication with dispatch, site managers, and other team members ensures that deliveries are made according to plan. Being able to report issues or delays promptly is important for smooth operations.

  • Physical Fitness: The role can involve loading and unloading materials, securing loads, and long hours on the road. Good physical health and stamina are important to handle these demands effectively.
